This year is the 30thanniversary that Deng Xiaoping wrote the inscription “Education developmentshould be oriented to modernization, the world and the future”. The Seminar ofDeng Xiaoping's “Three -Oriented Educational Ideas and Educational Reformand Development was held in Deng Xiaoping’s birthplace, Guangan, SichuanProvince in September 24th, 2013. Dean of CCCPC Party Literature ResearchOffice Leng Rong, vice minister of Ministry of Education Li Weihong and vice-governorof Sichuan Province Huang Yanrong attended the seminar and gave speeches. Theseminar was co-hosted by CCCPC Party Literature Research Office, Ministry ofEducation and People's Government of Sichuan Province.
The seminar had widely solicitedcontributions, and finally selected 90 papers and only 10 of them was invitedto give speech in the seminar. Informed by the General Office of Ministry ofEducation, Professor Qiuheng Shi attended the seminar and gave a speechentitled The Inevitable Choice of NationalModernization is Education Modernization, which pointed out that national modernizationneed education modernization is the heart of Deng Xiaoping’s “Three-Oriented Educational Ideas and Educational Reform and Development. Thetheme was highly approval by all present.
